TCC Card LED Summary

The front panel on the TCC card has seven LEDs:
Table 1-12
Note
There are two LEDs for each DTI port (ACK and LINK). Only one of these can be on at a time.
The upper LED (ACK) indicates whether the RFGW-TCC is connected (linked) with the DTI server. It
does not indicated a frequency lock with the DTI server. Yellow illumination indicates a positive
communication link with the server. The lower LED (LINK) can either be green or off. When green, it
indicates that the DTI client has established connection with the server and the frequency is locked.
A typical transition of the LEDS is the ACK LED illuminates yellow (linked) after the system comes up
and when the DTI frequency is locked, the ACK LED becomes off and the LINK LED illuminates green.
DTI Physical Connector
The DTI interface on the TCC card is compliant with the DOCSIS Timing Interface Specification
CM-SP-DTI-I04-061222 (DTI). It is a DTI client device and provides an RJ-45 (female) connector for
each DTI link. These interfaces are redundant and can support separate DTI servers.
The cables used to connect the TCC card to a DTI server should use standard RJ-45 (female) terminated
10BaseT UTP Ethernet cables. The DTI interface operates normally over a maximum of 200 meters
using category 5E rated UTP cables (or higher performance cable). The termination impedance for the
DTI interface must be 100 ohms.
According to the DOCSIS Timing Interface Specification CM-SP-DTI-I04-061222, the interface is
compliant with conventional Ethernet cabling pinouts and cable type. One distinction with DTI is that
the DTI utilizes a single pair for transmission in both directions. Therefore a crossover function (similar
to Ethernet crossover) is not required.
