This is an example of output from the show storm-control command for a specified interface. Because

no traffic type keyword was entered, the broadcast storm control settings appear.

Switch> show storm-control fastethernet0/17

This is an example of output from the show storm-control command for a specified interface and traffic

type when no storm control threshold has been set for that traffic type on the specified interface.

Switch> show storm-control fastethernet0/17 multicast

describes the fields in the show storm-control display.

Displays the ID of the interface.

Displays the status of the filter:

Blocking—Storm control is enabled, and a storm has occurred.

Forwarding—Storm control is enabled, and no storms have occurred.

Inactive—Storm control is disabled.

Displays the threshold level set on the interface for broadcast traffic or the

specified traffic type (broadcast, multicast, or unicast).

Displays the bandwidth utilization of broadcast traffic or the specified traffic

type (broadcast, multicast, or unicast) as a percentage of total available

bandwidth. This field is only valid when storm control is enabled.

Sets the broadcast, multicast, or unicast storm control levels for the switch.
