Configuring Networking Protocols

Configuring IS-IS

To configure IS-IS routing, perform the following steps, beginning in global configuration mode:

The following example shows how to configure IS-IS routing:
Router(config)# router isis
Router(config-router)# net 49.0001.0000.0000.000a.00
Router(config-router)# interface gigabitethernet 0
Router(config-if)# ip router isis
Router(config-if)# end

Verifying the IS-IS Configuration

To verify the IS-IS configuration, use the EXEC commands listed in

Table 10-7 IS-IS Show Commands

The ML Series does not support Connectionless Network Service Protocol (CLNS) routing.

The following example shows the IS-IS configuration:

Outgoing update filter list for all interfaces is not set
Incoming update filter list for all interfaces is not set

Purpose
Defines IS-IS as the IP routing protocol.
Configures network entity titles (NETs) for the
routing process; you can specify a name for a
NET as well as an address.
Enters interface configuration mode.
Assigns an IP address to the interface.
Specifies that this interface should run IS-IS.
Returns to privileged EXEC mode.
