Configuring Wired WAN Connections
Configuring WAN properties for an IPv4 network differs depending on which type
of Internet connection you have.
Configuring DHCP (Automatic Configuration)
If your Internet Service Provider (ISP) uses Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP)
to assign you an IP address, you receive an IP address that is dynamically
generated each time you log in.
To configure DHCP WAN settings:
Choose Networking > WAN.
From the Internet Connection Type drop-down list, choose Automatic
Configuration - DHCP.
From the DNS Server Source drop-down list, choose one of the following ways to
set the DNS server address:
•
If you already have DNS server addresses from your ISP, choose Use these
DNS Servers, and enter the primary and secondary addresses.
•
If you do not have DNS server addresses from your ISP, choose Get
Dynamically from ISP.
•
To use the DNS servers provided by OpenDNS (208.67.222.222,
208.67.220.220) to resolve your web addresses, choose Use OpenDNS.
Click Save.
