    Partner device (electrical connection) The same SFP transceiver must be plugged into both media converters. A maximum of two SCALANCE XCM-100 can be connected in series. Mixed operation of SCALANCE XCM-100 with SCALANCE X101-1/X101-1LD is not possible. Because the SFP ports are connected to each other, both media converters switch the connection status (link up or link down) at almost the same time.
