    Introduction The RUGGEDCOM RSG2100P is a rugged, Power over Ethernet (PoE) enabled, fully managed, modular Ethernet switch specifically designed to operate reliably in electri- cally harsh and climatically demanding utility substation, railway and industrial envi- ronments. The RUGGEDCOM RSG2100P’s superior rugged hardware design coupled with the embedded Rugged Operating System (ROS) provides improved system reli- ability and advanced cyber security and networking features, making it ideally suited for creating Ethernet networks for mission-critical, real-time, control applications.

    Device Management This section describes how to connect to and manage the device. Connecting to the Device The following describes the various methods for accessing the RUGGEDCOM RSG2100P console and Web interfaces on the device. For more detailed instructions, refer to the RUGGEDCOM RSG2100P User Guide for the RUGGEDCOM RSG2100P. RS232 Console Port Connect a workstation directly to the RS232 console port to access the boot-time control and RUGGEDCOM RSG2100P interfaces.
