Enabling and Disabling the ASI Port
The ASI port is port number 15 on a QAM card.
To enable and disable the ASI port, use the following command:
Router(config-if)# [no] shut
Examples:
Enable the ASI port on QAM line card in Slot 3:
Router# configure terminal
Router(config)# interface asi 3/15
Router(config-if)# no shut
Disable the ASI port on QAM line card in Slot 3:
Router# configure terminal
Router(config)# interface asi 3/15
Router(config-if)# shut
Monitoring a Specific QAM via the ASI Port
To route qam output to the ASI port, use the following commands:
Router# configure terminal
Router(config)# interface asi slot/15
Router(config-if)# cable monitor rf-port port channel channel
where:
slot = 3 - 12
port = 1 - 12
channel = 1 - 4 (depending on the stacking level)
Example:
To route qam3/5.1 output to the ASI port:
Router# configure terminal
Router(config)# interface asi 3/15
Router(config-if)# cable monitor rf-port 5 channel 1
Router(config-subif)#
Note
Routing the input of a QAM channel to the ASI port does not disrupt the RF output.
