    Introduction The RUGGEDCOM RSG2200F is a rugged, fully managed, modular Ethernet switch specifically designed to operate reliably in electrically harsh and climatically de- manding utility substation, railway and industrial environments. The RUGGEDCOM RSG2200F’s superior rugged hardware design coupled with the embedded Rugged Operating System (ROS) provides improved system reliability and advanced cyber security and networking features, making it ideally suited for creating Ethernet net- works for mission-critical, real-time, control applications.

    Introduction 1.2 Description • CSA/UL 60950-1 safety approved to 85 °C (185 °F) Description The RUGGEDCOM RSG2200F features various ports, controls and indicator LEDs on the display panel for connecting, configuring and troubleshooting the device. The display panel can be located on the rear, front or top of the device, depending on the mounting configuration.

Connecting to the Device The following describes the various methods for accessing the RUGGEDCOM RSG2200F console and Web interfaces on the device. For more detailed instructions, refer to the RUGGEDCOM RSG2200F User Guide for the RUGGEDCOM RSG2200F. RS232 Console Port Connect a workstation directly to the RS232 console port to access the boot-time control and RUGGEDCOM RSG2200F interfaces.
