Cisco RV215W Wireless-N VPN Firewall Administration Guide
Draft Version 1—Cisco Confidential
You can upgrade to a newer version of the firmware or change the language of the
router by using the Administration > Firmware/Language Upgrade page.
During a firmware upgrade, do not try to go online, turn off the device, shut down
the PC, or interrupt the process in any way until the operation is complete. This
process takes about a minute, including the reboot process. Interrupting the
upgrade process at specific points when the flash memory is being written to may
corrupt it and render the router unusable.
Upgrading the Firmware
To update the router with a newer version of the firmware:
Choose Administration > Firmware/Language Upgrade.
(Optional) Click Download to download the latest version of the firmware.
In the File Type field, click the Firmware Image button.
Click Browse to locate and select the downloaded firmware.
(Optional) To reset the Cisco RV215W to default factory settings after the firmware
is upgraded, check Reset all configurations/settings to factory defaults.
Resetting the Cisco RV215W to default factory settings erases all of your
configuration settings.
Click Start Upgrade.
After the new firmware image is validated, the new image is written to flash, and
the router is automatically rebooted with the new firmware.
Choose Status > System Summary to make sure the router installed the new
firmware version.
