Wireless-B Media Adapter

Appendix D: Creating a Playlist

A playlist tells the Adapter to play your music files in a specific sequence. You can use a playlist with either of
these file extensions, .M3U and .ASX. You can use any software that exports a playlist with one of these two
extensions. For example, Windows Media Player is included with Windows 2000 and XP. (If you are using
Windows 2000, Linksys recommends that you use Windows Media Player version 7 or higher.)
Note: Before you create a playlist, make sure the songs you want are in a shared media folder that
the Adapter can access.
Follow these instructions to create a playlist in Windows Media Player version 7 or higher:
1. Open Windows Media Player on the host computer.
2. Click Media Library.
3. Click New Playlist.
4. Enter a name for the Playlist, and click the OK button. The new Playlist appears on the left.
5. Select the songs you want, and drag them to the Playlist's name on the left.
6. Drag and drop the songs to arrange them in the order you want them to play.
Note: After you have created your playlist, export it to a file so you can save the Playlist file to a
shared media folder that the Adapter can access.
Follow these instructions to export a playlist to a file in Windows Media Player version 7 or higher:
1. Select Playlist.
2. Click File and then Export Playlist to File.
3. Enter a file name, and click Save.
4. Place the Playlist file in a shared folder.
