Cisco VG30D Voice Gateway Quick Start Guide
8
If required, you can connect the Cisco VG30D Voice Gateway Alarm port to an
alarm signal detector before powering on the unit.
Find the power On/Off switch (I / O) adjacent to the mains connector.
Before connecting any cables or changing any switches, power off the Cisco
VG30D Voice Gateway.
Ensure the Power On Self Test (POST) switch is set in the POST position before
powering on the Cisco VG30D Voice Gateway unit. Be aware that the Factory
position is for Cisco Systems, Inc., engineers only.
These switches allow the selection of either 75-ohm or 120-ohm impedance for
the SCN ports. Use 75 ohms for coaxial BNC connection (BNC position), and use
120 ohms for UTP RJ45 connectivity (RJ45 position).
Make this selection before power is applied to the unit.
Use the Craft switch to switch between serial connection for initialising the Cisco
VG30D Voice Gateway and Factory Engineering management. By default, the
switch should remain set to Craft.
