    Introduction This document provides instructions for configuring the 960H Ultra Wide Dynamic HD3UH(X)/HD4UH(X) minidome camera settings. These instructions are intended for system installers, administrators, and operators. For information about installing the camera, refer to the appropriate Quick Installation Guide for your camera.

    Programming the Camera The camera is programmed using the on-screen display (OSD) menus. You can connect a portable monitor during installation using the supplied adapter cable. To show the OSD main menu, press the OSD controller joystick located on the camera control board. Move the joystick up or down to navigate through the menu options.

    Exposure Backlight Settings Select HME, BLC or WDR. Press the OSD controller joystick to select and set the various parameters. HME Backlight HME (Highlight Mask Exposure) allows objects to appear clearly by masking the extremely bright areas on the screen. Select HME from the BACKLIGHT setting to turn on HME.

These settings adjust the position and size of the BLC zone (gray rectangle). zone WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) Backlight Set the WEIGHT for the WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) level from LOW, MIDDLE or HIGH (default).

    DRC (Dynamic Range Compressor) Setting DRC enables dark areas in an image to be more visible without overexposing the bright areas of the image. Set DRC to OFF, LOW, MIDDLE, or HIGH. Note If WDR and/or DEFOG are enabled, the DRC settings are automatically enabled and cannot be adjusted.

    MODE AUTO: Select to have DEFOG turn on automatically when needed. MANUAL: Select to have DEFOG turn on manually. LEVEL Select the DEFOG level from LOW, MIDDLE, or HIGH. AGC (Auto Gain Control) Setting Set AGC from 0 to 20 (default is 20). A high AGC setting produces a brighter image in low light but also produces more noise.

    3D DNR (Digital Noise Reduction) Setting Digital Noise Reduction reduces the noise/ distortion on the screen in night mode, allowing clear images in low-light conditions. Set 3D DNR to OFF, LOW, MIDDLE, or HIGH. The default setting is HIGH. Color Menu White Balance Setting Set WHITE BAL to AWB, ATW, PUSH, or MANUAL to set the White Balance mode.

    Day&Night Menu D&N Mode Set D&N MODE to AUTO (default), COLOR, or B&W. AUTO Camera automatically switches between day and night mode depending on the light level. COLOR Camera remains in day mode (color mode), regardless of the light level. B&W Camera remains in night mode (black &...

    AUTO Control Setting When AUTO is selected, the Day/Night switching is based on the AGC levels. AGC THRES. Set when the camera switches between Day and Night. AGC MARGIN Set the value that is added to the AGC Threshold. Adjust this value based on the environment where the camera is being used.

    Function Menu Sharpness Setting To adjust the image SHARPNESS, select a value from 0 to 20. The default setting is 5. The higher the SHARPNESS value, the sharper the image. Gamma Setting To adjust the GAMMA level, select a value from 0.45 to 0.64.

    Mirror and Flip Settings MIRROR and FLIP can both be set to either ON or OFF. MIRROR reflects the camera image on its horizontal axis, and FLIP reflects the camera image on its vertical axis.   • Page 20: Enabling Motion Detection

    Enabling Motion Detection Set MOTION to ON or OFF. When MOTION is set to ON, an alarm notification is displayed on the screen when movement is detected in the scene. You can adjust the sensitivity of the motion detection by entering the DET SETTINGS submenu. Use the options in the MOTION submenu to configure up to 4 motion detection zones.
  • Page 21 Detection Settings Use the DET SETTING submenu to adjust the detection sensitivity and other settings. SENSITIVITY Sets the sensitivity of the motion detection. When SENSITIVITY is set to a higher value, smaller amounts of motion will be detected. OBJ. KEEP LV Set the dwell time for how long motion is detected.
  • Page 22 Quick Zoom Motion Option The camera can be set to automatically digitally zoom in when motion is detected. Select  QUICK ZOOM ON in the MOTION menu to open the QUICK ZOOM submenu. Note Motion must be enabled to make the Quick Zoom option available. MOVING Sets the camera’s movement speed.

    Privacy Menu The Privacy menu allows you to hide sensitive parts of the screen with a privacy mask to block any intrusive monitoring. Up to 16 separate privacy mask zones can be set. Setting a Privacy Mask Before setting up a privacy mask, make sure to select the mask number (ZONE NUM.) of the mask that you want to create or edit.

    Setup Menu Communication Settings Use the Communications submenu to adjust the camera’s ID and Baudrate. CAM ID Sets the Camera ID from 0 to 255. BAUDRATE Sets the Baudrate for the camera. Default is 9600 BPS. Options are 2400, 4800, 9600, 57600, and 115200 BPS.

    Language Setting Set the LANGUAGE of the on-screen display to one of the following: ENG (English; default language), CHN (Chinese), CHN(S) (simplified Chinese), JPN (Japanese), or KOR (Korean). Special Mode Settings The SPECIAL submenu can be used to detect defected or dead pixels, set the TV mode, and select the Optical Low Pass Filter (OLPF) to use.

    Initial Setting (Default Settings) Resets the camera to its factory default settings. Exit Menu SAVE&EXIT Exits the OSD after saving the current settings. EXIT (Without Saving) Exit the OSD without saving the setting changes.
