Introduction This document provides instructions for configuring the HD3DS(X) and HD3HRS(X) indoor minidome camera settings. The HD3DS(X) offers true day/night functionality and the HD3HRS(X) is a day/night version. These instructions are intended for system installers, administrators, and operators. For information about installing the camera, refer to the 3 Inch Minidome Camera Quick Installation Guide.

Exposure Menu EXPOSURE LENS Note Only DC mode is supported at this time. Choosing MANUAL mode may cause the camera to operate incorrectly. Select DC. Set the DC LEVEL to adjust the brightness level of the monitor screen. Select a value from 1 to 100 (100 = brightest).

EXPOSURE BACKLIGHT Set BACKLIGHT to BLC (Backlight Compensation), HME (Highlight Masking Exposure), D.WDR (Digital Wide Dynamic Range), or OFF. Backlight Compensation prevents subjects in defined areas of the scene from appearing too dark when backlighting is present. Highlight Masking Exposure masks bright areas of the scene to allow objects to appear clearly on the screen.

If HME is selected, do the following: Select HME_BLC SET. Set SET LEVEL to LOWEST, LOW, MID, or HIGH. Define the highlight masking area (shaded) by adjusting TOP, BOTTOM, LEFT, and RIGHT. Define MASK 1 (indicated by the outline at the top left of the screen) by adjusting TOP, BOTTOM, LEFT, and RIGHT.

EXPOSURE AGC (Auto Gain Control) Auto Gain Control increases picture brightness in low light conditions. However, it also increases picture noise. Set AGC to OFF, LOW, MID, HIGH, or HIGHEST. EXPOSURE SENSE-UP SENSE-UP automatically activates slow shutter function when a scene is too dark. Select a value from X2 to X1024 to set the frame integration level.
Color Menu COLOR WB MODE Set WB MODE to AWC, ATW, MANUAL, or PUSH. Auto White Balance Control mode compensates for color temperature changes between 2000 K and 18000 K. Auto Tracking White Balance mode compensates for color temperature changes between 2500 K and 9500 K. MANUAL Manual mode lets you manually adjust the red gain and blue gain levels (M.

COLOR RED GAIN RED GAIN adjusts the amount of red in the image. Select a value between 000 and 255. The default setting is 128. COLOR BLUE GAIN BLUE GAIN adjusts the amount of blue in the image. Select a value between 000 and 255. The default setting is 128.
Day&Night Menu DAY&NIGHT D&N MODE Set D&N MODE to AUTO, COLOR, or BW. AUTO Camera automatically switches between day and night mode depending on the light level. COLOR Camera remains in day mode, regardless of the light level. Camera remains in night mode, regardless of the light level.

Select BW -> COLOR to set the light level at which the camera switches from night to day mode. This number should be lower than the value for COLOR -> BW. Set READ TIME to set the time interval delay before switching from day mode to night mode.
Function Menu FUNCTION MIRROR MIRROR flips the image horizontally. Set MIRROR to OFF or MIRROR. FUNCTION SHARPNESS SHARPNESS sets the sharpness of the image. The higher the number, the sharper the image. Select a value from 000 to 030. The default setting is 015.

FUNCTION SLC (Side Light Compensation) SLC compensates for a brighter image on the sides of the screen. Set SLC to ON or OFF. If ON is selected, select SET LEVEL and select a value from 000 to 030. The default setting is 015. FUNCTION NIGHT-UP NIGHT-UP compensates for bright areas on the sides of the screen.
Motion Menu MOTION AREA SET The camera can detect movement and display an alarm on the screen when movement is detected. Select AREA SET to set up motion detection areas. You can set up to four motion detection areas. To set up a motion detection area Select the area and set it to ON.

MOTION SENSITIV. You can adjust the sensitivity of the motion detection. Select a value from 001 to 030. The higher the number, the greater the sensitivity of the motion detection. The default setting is 020. MOTION SHOW INDI. You can set the motion detection indicator to OFF, ICON, or TRACE. MOTION EXTER OUT EXTER OUT is not supported.
Privacy Menu PRIVACY MASK 1 to MASK 8 You can hide some parts of the screen using privacy masking. Set PRIVACY MASK to ON or OFF. You can create up to eight privacy masks. To set up a privacy mask Select a privacy mask and set it to ON.
Setup Menu SETUP TITLE Set TITLE to ON or OFF. If ON is selected, you can display a title for the camera on the screen. CLR clears the title. POS lets you adjust the position of the title on the screen.

SETUP DPC SET Note For advanced users only. Dead Pixel Cancellation (DPC) automatically removes defective (“dead”) pixels in real time. Set DPC SET to AUTO or OFF. If AUTO is selected, do the following: Set WHITE THR. to cancel defective white pixels.

SETUP LANGUAGE Set the LANGUAGE of the on-screen display. Ten languages are supported: English, Chinese (1), Chinese (2), Japanese, German, French, Italian, Russian, Spanish, and Dutch. SETUP OSD COLOR Set the OSD COLOR to YELLOW, PURPLE, GRAY, BLUE, GREEN, CYAN, RED, or MAGENTA.
