Incorrect baud rate.
Telephone cable loose or not connected

Cable trunking defective.

XL switch.

Use the show POST EXEC
command to see which test failed.
Tighten the thumb screws on the
module front panel.
Reset the emulation software to
9600 baud.
Reseat telephone cable into
telephone wall jack and Cisco
LRE CPE.
Replace telephone cable.
Repair cable trunking or select an
alternative pair.
Verify switch and upstream
network status.
