KX-FP320G / KX-FM330G 2.3.3.4. Digital Board Section When the unit fails to boot up the system, take the troubleshooting procedures very carefully. It may have a serious problem. The symptom: No response when the power is turned on. (No LCD display, and keys are not accepted.) The first step is to check the power source.
Page 110

Page 111
KX-FP320G / KX-FM330G You also need to check the signal lines listed here [List 1] when the unit fails to boot up the system. Those signal lines should remain normal. Other signal lines are not directly related to that failure even if they have faults or troubles. As long as these signals remain normal, once the power is turned on, each IC can repeatedly output 5V (H) and 0V (L).
Page 112

Page 113
KX-FP320G / KX-FM330G Remarks: When you use an oscilloscope to judge whether a signal to be tested is normal or NG, perform the signal check in exactly the same order as in [List 1]. (If the ASIC fails to access the ROM, the ASIC cannot access SRAM or DRAM normally.) The digital circuit actually operates according to the timing combinations of these signals.
Page 115
KX-FP320G / KX-FM330G After the power is turned on, the ASIC initializes and checks each IC. The ROM, SRAM, and modem are checked. If initialization fails for the ICs , the system will not boot up. In this case, please find the cause as follows.

KX-FP320G / KX-FM330G 2.3.3.5. Analog Board Section This chapter provides the testing procedures required for the analog parts. A signal route to be tested is determined depending upon purposes. For example, the handset TX route begins at the handset microphone and the signal is output to the telephone line. The signal mainly flowing on this route is analog.
Page 124
KX-FP320G / KX-FM330G 1. Defective ITS (Integrated Telephone System) Section a. No handset and speakerphone transmission / reception Following the ITS section or the NCU section, search for the route between the handset microphone and telephone line (sending), or between the telephone line and the handset speaker (receiving), or between the telephone line and the speaker (receiving) where the signal disappears.
Page 125
KX-FP320G / KX-FM330G 2.3.3.5.1. Digital Speakerphone The digital speakerphone has different features from the analog speakerphone. The analog speakerphone switches between Tx or Rx. Either Tx or Rx is able to pass through a telephone line or speaker, depending on the Tx and Rx signal (voice) level. The higher-level signal (either TX or RX) can pass through the route. Therefore, you never hear the other party´s voice while you are talking.

KX-FP320G / KX-FM330G 6.10. ITS (Integrated telephone System) and MONITOR SECTION 6.10.1. GENERAL The general ITS operation is performed by the special IC505 which has a handset circuit. The alarm tone, the key tone, and the beep are output from the ASIC IC501 (digital board). During the pulse dial operation, the monitor tone is output from the ASIC IC501.
KX-FP320G / KX-FM330G 6.12. SPECIAL CIRCUIT ON THE ANALOG BOARD 6.12.1. CURRENT DETECTION CIRCUIT 1. Function This circuit detects whether the circuit current is flowing or not. It is also used for CPC detection and Ext. Tel Hook detection. 2. Circuit Operation If a circuit current of 10 mA or more flows in the IC1 coil when the unit or Ext.
KX-FP320G / KX-FM330G 6.13. ANALOG GATE ARRAY (IC5 on the Analog Board) This IC can perform signal route switching and level adjustments for various types of analog signals. This IC is a custom IC incorporating an I/O port. This IC incorporates a cross-point switch, electronic volume, ALC circuit for recording, sidetone attenuation circuit, and an I/O port.

KX-FP320G / KX-FM330G 6.13.2. EXPLANATION OF ANALOG GATE ARRAY (IC103 on the Analog Board)
KX-FP320G / KX-FM330G 6.14. OPERATION BOARD SECTION The unit consists of a LCD (Liquid crystal display), KEYs and LEDs (light-emitting diodes). They are controlled by the Gate Array (IC301) and ASIC (IC501: on the DIGITAL BOARD). (Fig.-a) The key matrix table is shown blow.
KX-FP320G / KX-FM330G 6.15. LCD SECTION The Gate Array (IC301) works only for writing the ASCII code from the data bus (D4~D7). V0 is supplied for the crystal drive. R323 and R322 are density control resistors. Consequently, in this unit, the timing (positive clock) is generated by the LCD interface circuitry in the gate array (IC301). Density Normal Dark...
KX-FP320G / KX-FM330G 6.16. POWER SUPPLY BOARD SWITCHING SECTION [Input Circuit] Input current goes into the Input circuit and Rectifier circuit through the filter circuit. The filter circuit decreases noise terminal voltage and noise electric field strength. [Rectifier Circuit] Input current is rectified by D101, D102 D103, D104 and C106 to make DC voltage, then the power is supplied to the Converter circuit.

KX-FP320G / KX-FM330G The following shows the operation of this circuit with the simple circuit. The circuit in the previous page, when the transistor Q101 is ON, secondary rectifier diode D201 is OFF and the energy is charged in the transformer T101. Q101 continues being ON while the voltage is generated by control winding (B).
