Simple sewing machine maintenance operations are described below.
Cleaning the machine
surface
If the surface of the machine is dirty, lightly soak a
cloth in neutral detergent, squeeze it out firmly, and
then wipe the surface of the machine. After cleaning
it once with a wet cloth, wipe it again with a dry
cloth.
CAUTION
● Make sure that the sewing machine has been
turned off, and then unplug the power cord
before cleaning the machine, otherwise injuries
or an electric shock may occur.
● Do not use benzene, thinner or cleansing
powder, otherwise the machine may be
discolored or deformed.

Cleaning the race

Clean the hook and under the needle plate.
Sewing performance will suffer if lint and dust
collect in the race; therefore, it should be cleaned
periodically.

Turn off the sewing machine, and then unplug
the power cord from the electrical outlet.
CAUTION
● Make sure that the sewing machine has been
turned off, and then unplug the power cord
before cleaning the machine, otherwise injuries
or an electric shock may occur.

Raise the needle and presser foot lever.

Pull the flat bed attachment off to the left.

Loosen the presser foot holder screw and
remove the presser foot holder, and then
loosen the needle clamp screw and remove
the needle.

Grasp both sides of the needle plate cover,
and then slide it toward you to remove it.

Remove the bobbin case.
Grasp the front of the bobbin case, and then
pull it out.

Use the enclosed cleaning brush or a vacuum
cleaner to remove any lint and dust from the
race and its surrounding area.

• Do not apply oil to the race or bobbin case.
