Troubleshooting

If the machine stops operating correctly, check for the following possible causes before requesting service.
If the problem persists, contact your dealer or the nearest authorized service center.
Symptom
The plug of the power cord is not
inserted into an electrical outlet.
The machine is not turned on.
The bobbin winder shaft is moved to
the right.
The presser foot lever is raised.

this machine is not used.
Probable Cause
Remedy
Insert the plug of the power cord into
a household electrical outlet.
Turn on the machine.
Slide the bobbin winder shaft to the
left.
Lower the presser foot lever.
Raise the buttonhole lever.
Pull down the buttonhole lever.
Do not use the start/stop button when
the foot controller is connected. To
use the start/stop button, disconnect
the foot controller.
Correctly install the needle.
Use the screwdriver to firmly tighten
the screw.
Replace the needle with a new one.
Select a thread and needle that are
appropriate for the type of fabric
being sewn.
Attach the presser foot that is
appropriate for the type of stitch that
you wish to sew.
Lightly guide the fabric.
Replace the needle plate.
Contact your dealer or the nearest
authorized service center.
Replace the presser foot.
Contact your dealer or the nearest
authorized service center.
Replace the bobbin case.
Contact your dealer or the nearest
authorized service center.
Bobbins from older models, which
have a different thickness, will not
work properly. Only use a bobbin
designed specifically for this
machine.
