    Setting Up the Monitor To set up the monitor, ensure that the power is turned off to the monitor, computer system, and other attached devices, then follow the instructions below. Attaching the Monitor Base Set the base on a flat surface such as a table top. Using both hands, position the pedestal over the base and press down firmly to lock it in place.

    Connecting the Cables Place the monitor in a convenient, well-ventilated location near the computer. Route the cables through the cable guide on the rear of the monitor pedestal. Connect the VGA signal cable to the VGA connector on the rear of the monitor and the other end to the VGA connector on the computer.

    Connecting the Speakers (select models only) Place the speaker set near the monitor so that the speaker with the controls is on the right side when viewing the monitor from the front. Connect the USB cable on the control speaker to a USB connector on the computer. Connect one end of the audio cable provided to the control speaker and the other end to the audio output connector on the computer.

    Mounting the Monitor Panel You can remove the monitor panel from the pedestal base to install the panel on a wall, a swing arm, or other mounting fixture. CAUTION: Before beginning to disassemble the monitor, be sure the monitor is turned off and the power and signal cables are both disconnected.

To attach a third-party mounting solution to the monitor, four 4 mm, 0.7 pitch, and 10 mm long screws are required (not provided with the monitor).

    The rating labels on the monitor provide the spare part number, product number, and serial number. You may need these numbers when contacting HP about the monitor model. The rating labels are located on the rear panel of the monitor display head.

    Adjusting the Monitor Settings The monitor settings can be adjusted from the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu.     Optimizing Digital Conversion Two controls in the on-screen display can be adjusted to improve image performance: Pixel Clock and Phase. NOTE: The Pixel Clock and Phase controls are adjustable only when using an analog input. These controls are not adjustable for digital inputs. The Pixel Clock must first be set correctly since the Phase settings are dependent on the main Pixel Clock setting.
