Software Driver and Application Installation To start the setup program for each application: Insert the Manual and Application CD-ROM into the External DVD SuperMulti drive. The Start Menu appears. Click the application to install. Follow the information that appears on the screen.
Chapter 4 Using the External DVD SuperMulti Drive The following sections present how to use the External DVD SuperMulti drive. Inserting Discs Turn on your computer. Press the OPEN button to open the Disc cover and pull the Disc cover up fully. To insert a disc, hold it by the edges and place it in the tray with the readable (plain) side down.
Using the External DVD SuperMulti Drive When the OPEN button is pressed the drive will stop. If you want to continue using the disc lift the cover fully and then re-close it. Avoid touching the readable (plain) side(s) of a disc. Touching the readable side of the disc may cause read errors, poor performance or failed operation.
Using the External DVD SuperMulti Drive Use the emergency open lever to remove a disc If you need to remove a disc without power to your External DVD SuperMulti Drive, you can manually open the cover by sliding the emergeny lever on the underside of the drive.

Using the External DVD SuperMulti Drive ❖ If you add data to a DVD-R and DVD+R disc that you have already recoroded to, you might not be able to read the added data under some circumstances. It cannot be read in 16-bit operating systems, such as Windows 98SE and Windows ME.
