Using Performances
HINT
Lighting Patterns
As shown below, the way in which the lamps for the parts making up a Performance and for certain other blocks light up and go
out depends on the stage piano's current setting condition. The buttons in question are the Part buttons*, the [PRE-AMP] button,
the [MOD-FX] button, the [PWR-AMP] button (CP5 only), the [REVERB] button, and the [MASTER COMPRESSOR] button. 
(*: [LEFT1], [LEFT2], [RIGHT1], [RIGHT2], [TRACK], and [MIC INPUT] on the CP5; [LEFT], [RIGHT], and [TRACK] on the CP50.)
• Not lit: The part or block is currently off.
• Lit: The part or block is currently on.
• Flashing with longer lit period: The part or block is currently on and its parameter setting screen is being
displayed.
• Flashing with shorter lit period: The part or block is currently off, but its parameter setting screen is being
displayed.
NOTE
The action of a Pre-Amplifier block when its lamp is not lit or is flashing with a shorter lit period will depend on the voice assigned to the
currently selected part. For more details, see Turning Performance Blocks On & Off above.
NOTE
The lamps to the top-left of the [VOICE] and [COMMON] buttons have two lighting patterns only — namely, on and off. Specifically, these
lamps light up when the Voice screen or Common Settings screen is displayed, and they remain off at all other times.
Changing Layer & Split Settings
Using your stage piano's layering and splitting functions, you can easily layer the current Performance's left and right
parts or assign them to specific left-hand and right-hand zones. The [SPLIT] button from the control panel can be
pressed to toggle between these two conditions, with the lamp to its top-left lighting up in Split mode and going out in
Layer mode.
NOTE
When layering parts, overlapping playing zones are defined by setting note limits for each. When splitting parts, meanwhile, a split point is set.
Notes to the left and right of that point can then be played using the left and right parts, respectively. For more details, refer to the Reference
Manual pdf document.
