AC Adapter When using the AC adapter, carefully read and observe the information in “Safety Precautions” p. 6) as well as the following instructions. Be sure to use the supplied AC adapter. Charging the Battery The gigabeat is equipped with a built-in battery. When the AC adapter is connected to the gigabeat, charging begins automatically. If you are using the gigabeat for the first time after purchase, or when the gigabeat hasn't been used for a prolonged period, fully charge the battery beforehand.

The charge time will vary depending on the condition of the built-in battery, ambient temperature, etc. If USB connection ( TOSHIBA Audio Application Owner's Manual, p. 14) is maintained for a prolonged period while the gigabeat is being charged, the charge may stop temporarily to limit the temperature increase in the gigabeat.

Playing Audio Data G Preparation Transfer audio data to the gigabeat beforehand. See the TOSHIBA Audio Application Owner’s Manual for the procedure for transferring audio data. Playing the Audio Data Selected in the Browse Window You can select a folder, playlist or audio data for playback. For the procedure to create a folder or playlist, see the TOSHIBA Audio Application Owner's Manual. Press the MENU button.
Selecting the playlist named latest 100* will play the recently transferred audio data. * This is the factory setting. You can change the name by using the history setting function of TOSHIBA Audio Application. ( TOSHIBA Audio Application Owner’s Manual, p. 36) It may take one or two minutes until playback begins in case the selected folder contains hundreds audio files.

Bookmarking You can bookmark your favorite audio data. By bookmarking audio files you can play only the bookmarked files while excluding unwanted files. Tilt the Jog switch up/down in the Folder window to select the audio data you want to bookmark. Pops Pops Playlist...
Viewing Bookmarked Audio Data Tilt the Jog switch up/down in the Browse window to select “BOOKMARK”, and then press the Jog switch. The bookmarked audio data will be BOOKMARK displayed. Audiodata You can play the selected audio data by Audiodata pressing the Jog switch.
Moving Audio Data to the recycle bin You can move unwanted audio data or playlists to the recycle bin. Once in the recycle bin, the files no longer become playback targets. You can delete the data in the recycle bin altogether at a later time.
To restore audio data, etc., from the recycle bin, select a desired file in the Recycle Bin window, press the MENU button to display the Menu window, and select RESTORE FILE. If the gigabeat was reset or has shut down due to a dead battery, the recycle bin contents effective in the last session will be restored the next time the gigabeat is started.
Viewing/Playing the Library Transferring audio data from a PC to the gigabeat will create a library based on the corresponding song information. You can select LIBRARY in the Browse window to view and play audio data by artist or album. I Library Folder Structure Library Artist...
