    Removal IMPORTANT! System power will be cut off automatically upon removal of the bottom cover. To restore power, reattach the bottom cover securely and connect the AC power adapter to your Notebook PC after the servicing is complete. Remove the rubber cover(s) to expose the screw(s) underneath. Remove the screw(s) from the bottom cover.
  • Page 18 Use the plastic blade to pry open the indicated area of the bottom cover as shown in the illustration below. Remove the bottom cover. IMPORTANT! Avoid sliding the plastic blade along the side of your device or air vents to prevent damage.

    Installation IMPORTANT! System power will be cut off automatically upon removal of the bottom cover. To restore power, reattach the bottom cover securely and connect the AC power adapter to your Notebook PC after the servicing is complete. Install the bottom cover. Gently press down on the bottom cover until it clicks into place.
  • Page 20 Secure the bottom cover using the screw(s) you removed earlier. Align and put the rubber cover(s) in place.

IMPORTANT! • Disconnect the battery power cable by lifting the side with the red wires first. • Serious risk of fire or explosion may occur if the battery is punctured. If you are uncertain about proceeding, stop and contact an authorized service center for assistance.
  • Page 24 Remove the screw(s) from the battery. Remove the battery. Remove the battery power cable.

    Installation Connect the battery power cable to the battery. Install the battery. Secure the battery using the screw(s) you removed earlier.

    M.2 SSD module Before you begin IMPORTANT! Thermal paste, thermal pads, liquid metal, or other thermal interface materials must be thoroughly removed and replaced if this component is removed. Ensure that replacement materials are available before proceeding, or contact an authorized service center for assistance. Read the Safety Precautions and Pre-repair Checklist.

    Removal Remove the tape (if available) and remove the screw(s). Remove the M.2 SSD module(s) from the motherboard.
  • Page 30 Remove the aluminum foil sleeve. Remove the absorber sheet(s) from both sides of the M.2 SSD module(s).

    Installation Install the thermal pad(s) on the motherboard.
  • Page 33 Attach the absorber sheet(s) to both sides of the M.2 SSD module(s). Insert the M.2 SSD module(s) into the aluminum foil sleeve.
  • Page 34 Align and insert the M.2 SSD module(s) into the M.2 connector(s), and secure the M.2 SSD module(s) to the motherboard using the screw(s) you removed earlier. Align and reattach the tape (if available). Install the components you removed in the Before you begin section.

    Installation Install the WLAN module, then secure the WLAN module using the screw you removed earlier and reconnect the antenna cable(s). Route the cable through the cable guides. IMPORTANT! Damage may occur if cables are not properly routed through the cable guides. Confirm that all cables are routed through each of the indicated cable guides before proceeding.

    Removal Remove the screw(s), then disconnect the fan connector(s). Tilt the fan(s) upward and remove the fan(s) sideways.

    Installation Tilt the fan(s) downward, then align and install the fan(s) sideways. Secure the fan(s) using the screw(s) you removed earlier. Reconnect the fan connector. Install the components you removed in the Before you begin section.

    Vapor chamber heat sink and motherboard (on selected models) Before you begin WARNING! The heat sink contains liquid metal and should only be removed by authorized service personnel. Significant damage may occur to motherboard components if the heat sink is improperly removed. IMPORTANT! Thermal paste, thermal pads, liquid metal, or other thermal interface materials must be thoroughly removed and replaced if this component is removed.

    Removal Remove the screw(s), then remove the bracket.
  • Page 44 Disconnect the cable(s) from the motherboard as shown in the illustration below.
  • Page 45 Remove the screw(s) from the motherboard. Slightly lift the left side of the motherboard, then remove the motherboard with the heat sink installed on top.

    Installation Tilt up the left side of the motherboard, then align the right side of the motherboard with the I/O ports on the right side to install the motherboard with the heat sink installed on top. Secure the motherboard using the screw(s) you removed earlier.

    Removal Remove the screw(s), then remove the bracket.
  • Page 52 Disconnect the cable(s) from the motherboard as shown in the illustration below.
  • Page 53 Remove the screw(s) from the motherboard. Slightly lift the left side of the motherboard, then remove the motherboard with the fan modules and heat sink installed on top.
  • Page 54 Turn over the motherboard, then remove the tape securing the fan module(s) to the motherboard. Turn over the motherboard again, then remove the screw(s) and disconnect the fan cable(s). Remove the fan module(s).

    Installation Align and install the fan module(s) to the motherboard. Secure the motherboard using the screw(s) you removed earlier, then reconnect the fan cable(s).
  • Page 56 Turn over the motherboard, then align and reattach the tape to secure the fan module(s) to the motherboard.
  • Page 57 Tilt up the left side of the motherboard, then align the right side of the motherboard with the I/O ports on the right side to install the motherboard with the heat sink installed on top. Turn over the motherboard again, secure the motherboard using the screw(s) you removed earlier.

    Screw list M2.0 X 2.0L (2pcs) Removal Remove the tape. Remove the screw(s) from the power button board, then remove the power button board and reveal the power button. Turn over the power button board, then disconnect the cable from the bottom of the board.

    Removal Remove the tape. Partially peel off the lower part of the polyester film and remove the woofer speaker cable from the cable guides as shown in the illustration below. Remove the woofer speakers.

    Installation Install the woofer speakers. Route the woofer speaker cable through the cable guides. IMPORTANT! Damage may occur if cables are not properly routed through the cable guides. Confirm that all cables are routed through each of the indicated cable guides before proceeding. Reattch the lower part of the polyester film.

    Installation Install the tweeter speakers. Route the tweeter speaker cable through the cable guides. IMPORTANT! Damage may occur if cables are not properly routed through the cable guides.     • Vapor chamber heat sink and motherboard (on selected models) • Fan module, heat pipe heat sink and motherboard (on selected models) Screw list M2.0 X 4.0L (10pcs) M2.0 X 2.0L (7pcs) Removal On the keyboard module, remove the screw(s) and pull down the FPC cable(s) to reveal the cable latch holder(s) as shown in the illustration below.

  • Page 79 Remove the screw(s) and remove the thermal cover.
  • Page 80 Make sure a hand of yours hovers over the cable latch holder(s) to prevent the spring(s) from popping out in the next step. Use the plastic blade to carefully pry up the latches and remove the spring(s). Pry up the latch holder(s) from the right side. Remove the latch holder(s).

    Installation In the orientation shown, align and place the hinges of the display panel module on the screw holes.

Flip over the latch holder(s), then align and install the latch holder(s) on the keyboard module. Install the spring(s) on the latches in the correct orientation with the small end down.

  • Page 88 Route the cable through the cable guides. IMPORTANT! Damage may occur if cables are not properly routed through the cable guides. Confirm that all cables are routed through each of the indicated cable guides before proceeding. Reattach the tape.
