Press the Channel up and down keys simultaneously for more than 3 seconds, under the condition of the no tape is in the unit. 2. Confirm that "A1" and "A2" can be displayed on the FIP by pressing the CH UP and CH DOWN buttons.
  • Page 6: How To Replace The Lithium Battery

    1. Remove the Top Panel and Mechanism unit with Main C.B.A by referring to the Disassembling Procedure. 2. Unsolder the Lithium Battery: B7751 and then replace it with a new one (See Fig. B1). Fig. B1 NOTE: The lithium battery is a critical component (Manufactured by Panasonic.)
  • Page 7 It must never be subjected to excessive heat or discharge. It must therefore only be fitted in equipment designed specifically for its use. Replacement batteries must be of the same type and manufacture. They must be fitted in the same manner and location as the original battery, with the correct polarity contacts observed.
  • Page 8 Auto Tuning takes five or more minutes to complete its search. Do not touch the VCR during Auto Tuning. Auto Tuning will stop halfway, if the VCR is operated or the aerial lead and/or the mains lead are disconnected. In case the VCR stopped during Auto Tuning, the VCR has to be reset and restarted.
  • Page 9 2.3.2. CHECKING OF MAIN C.B.A. When servicing the MAIN C.B.A., take out the MAIN C.B.A. and mechanism from the frame. Turn the MAIN C.B.A. over as shown in Fig. Fig. S1 2.3.3. REMOVAL OF CASSETTE TAPE When the cassette tape could not be uninstalled from an electrical malfunction, There are 2 ways to remove a cassette tape.

CYLINDER UNIT REPLACEMENT NOTE: Replacing only Upper Cylinder unit of R4 Mechanism cannot be performed, as securing of RT gap is impossible out of factory, please replace the cylinder by whole Cylinder Unit. The Compatibility Adjustment should be performed after replacement ofthe DD Cylinder Unit.
  • Page 14 NOTE: When reassembling, perform the steps in the reverse order, and perform the TAPE INTERCHANGEABILITY ADJUSTMENT certainly after CYLINDER UNIT REPLACEMENT. 2.3.5. ATTENTION FOR REPLACING THE CYLINDER UNIT CAUTION: Handle the Cylinder Flexble Card with care. When it damaged, you should replace it with a new Cylinder Unit.
