HUMIDIFIER
When using electrical appliances, basic precautions
should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire,

1. Always place this humidifier on a firm, flat and level
surface. This humidifier may not work properly on an
uneven surface.
2. Place this humidifier in an area where it is not accessible
to children.
3. Do not place the humidifier near any heat sources such as
stoves, radiators, and heaters.
4. Do not use the humidifier outdoors.
5. Before using the humidifier, check the power cord for any
signs of damage. If the cord is found to be damaged, DO
NOT USE and return the humidifier to the manufacturer
under the warranty agreement for repair.

7. To disconnect the humidifier, first turn controls to the
OFF position, then grip the plug and pull it from the wall
outlet. Never pull by the cord.
8. A loose fit between the AC outlet (receptacle) and plug
may cause overheating and a distortion of the plug.
Contact a qualified electrician to replace loose or worn
outlet.
9. The humidifier should always be unplugged and emptied
when not in operation or while being serviced or cleaned.
10. Never tilt or attempt to move the humidifier while it is
operating or filled with water. UNPLUG the humidifier
before moving.
11. This humidifier requires regular cleaning. Refer to
the CLEANING instructions provided. Never clean the
humidifier in any manner other than as instructed in this
manual.
12. Do not direct moisture flow directly at individuals, walls
or furniture.
13. When a humidifier is used in a closed room or small
rooms, check periodically for proper ventilation, as
excessive humidity can cause condensation stains on
walls.
14. Turn the humidifier OFF if you notice moisture on the
inside of your windows. For proper humidity reading
use a hygrometer, which is available in many hardware
and department stores, or by ordering one from the
manufacturer.

Page 4: Operating Your Humidifier
Run on high for at least 1 hour or until room has reached a comfortable humidity level. HCM-800_OM.indd 4 NOTE: To ensure proper humidity in your home, you should use a hygrometer (room humidity indictor) such as the E-10 and place across the room from your humidifier. (Hygrometer sold separately) Step 2 Then, slowly turn the humidistat knob counter- clockwise until the humidifier shuts off. The illuminated water window will change from blue to green when the desired humidity level is reached. -
Page 5: Cleaning Your Filter
NOTE: It is recommended that all maintenance be done in the kitchen or bathroom on a water resistant surface. Remove water tank from unit before moving. CLEANING YOUR FILTER The filter should be cleaned every 1-3 months depending on your water quality. Keep in mind, depending on your water quality, mineral deposits can still clog or discolor the filter, affecting the performance of your humidifier. It is recommended you clean your filter in the bathroom or kitchen. Keep in mind your filter may be damp depending on your last usage. Note: Filter is contained in a filter holding frame. Please do not remove filter from frame or it may be damaged. -

Cleaning involves two steps, SCALE REMOVAL and DISINFECTING. Be sure to perform these in the proper order to avoid harmful chemical interactions. Failure to remove filter during cleaning will destroy the filter. Also please note, if the humidity level in your home is above 60%, you air is fully saturated and the humidifier will be unable to put out additional moisture. Q: The humidifier is not running (the fan is not even spinning), but all (or some) of the lights are on. A: The water window will change from blue to green when your desired humidity is reached. The unit will then shut off until the room humidity drops below the preset level or you change the control to a higher humidity setting. Q: The Advanced Mist™ Humidistat knob was set according to the manual, but the humidifier never seems to turn back on. -

R: De l’air sec est propulsé dans le système et le ventilateur disperse un air invisible équilibré en teneur d’humidité. Il n’y a pas d’ é mission de « buée ». SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS Pregunta: Oigo que el ventilador gira pero no veo niebla alguna. Mi humidificador ¿funciona correctamente? Respuesta: El sistema arrastra aire seco que lo atraviesa y hay un ventilador que dispersa aire con un contenido equilibrado de humedad que no puede verse. No se emite “ niebla”. En funcionamiento normal, usted sentirá que desde su unidad se desprende sólo aire fresco. Supervise el nivel de agua de su depósito/base. Si observa una disminución en el depósito de agua a través de un período de 24 horas, quiere decir que la unidad está funcionando normalmente. Pregunta: Mi unidad ha estado en marcha durante varias horas. Oigo que el ventilador gira pero no veo que el nivel de agua en el depósito disminuya. -
