Before heading out to an installation site, complete the steps in the Getting Started section to prepare the L6Q camera ahead of site visits. Review the following list of items and ensure everything needed is on hand before beginning installation.
Installing a SIM Card and SD Card When and where to use: Each L6Q camera requires an activated SIM card to connect to the Internet and upload detections to PlateSearch or Client Portal. A slot for an optional SD card is also provided for additional onboard storage to buffer detections in the event of connection loss.
USB-A power source. NOTE: Notice the location of the QR code above the USB-C port. Later, it is scanned to pair the L6Q Camera to the Mobile Companion application. 3 Unfurl the USB-C Cable and plug it into a USB-A power source.
Prerequisites: To view information about the L6Q camera, log on to the Mobile Companion application using a Vigilant PlateSearch Agency Manager Account or Vigilant Client Portal Site Manager Account. NOTE: If desired, the QR Code Icon at the bottom of the login screen can be used to pair L6Q cameras without logging in.
When and where to use: L6Q cameras must first be paired to the Mobile Companion application in order to send detections to Vigilant PlateSearch, view camera information, and perform aiming. L6Q cameras can be paired either by QR code, NFC (Near Field Communication), or by entering the camera serial number manually.

3.1.1 Assembling the Solar Panel It is recommended to travel with the packaged unit and perform assembly of the solar panel at the L6Q installation site. NOTE: You must perform assembly on the ground before ascending a ladder with the unit.

The camera can be mounted to a pole with two included metal band ties or to a flat surface with two included lag bolts. The L6Q kit also includes two reusable zip ties to temporarily hold the mounting bracket in place until the two metal band ties can be secured.

3.5.1 Preparing for Camera Aiming L6Q includes a mobile phone holder to allow for one hand adjustment of the camera. Procedure: 1 Slide the mobile phone into the included mobile phone holder and hook it onto the lower metal band tie.
