Lubrication
Tractor Unit
The machine has grease fittings that must be lubricated
regularly with No. 2 general purpose lithium base
grease. If the machine is operated under normal condi-
tions, lubricate all bearings and bushings after every 50
hours of operation. Lubricate bearings and bushings
immediately after every washing, regardless of the in-
terval listed.
1. Park machine on a level surface, lower cutting units,
stop engine, engage parking brake, and remove key
from the ignition switch.
2. The grease fitting locations and quantities are as fol-
lows:
A. Engine Drive shaft (3), (Fig. 3)
B. Two on each cutting unit carrier frame and pivot
(Fig. 4)
C. The five lift arm pivots and the drive shaft clutch
(Fig. 5)
D. Both on the rear axle tie rod, both steering cylin-
der ball joints, and the rear axle pivot (Fig. 6)
E. Traction control linkage at the transmission, drive
shaft support bearing, three on rear axle drive shaft
(Fig. 7)
F. One on the brake pedal (Fig. 8);
G. Five on the lift cylinders (Fig. 9)
H. One on the fan shaft (Fig. 10)
3. Wipe each grease fitting with a clean rag.
4. Apply grease until it begins to show.
5. Wipe excess grease away.
