What are Cisco ESW 500 Series Switches?

The Cisco
ESW 500 Series, part of the Cisco Small Business Pro Series, is a group of
managed Ethernet switches that provide wire-speed Fast and Gigabit Ethernet connectivity,
integrated security, quality of service (QoS), and Power over Ethernet (PoE) and are designed
and priced for small businesses. The ESW 500 Series switches quickly and simply integrate
with other Small Business Pro products, including the Cisco Smart Business Communications
System (SBCS), to provide a single high-performance, highly secure platform that supports the
voice, video, data, and wireless needs of any small business. The Cisco ESW 500 Series
consists of seven models (Table 1).

The switches provide the following features and benefits:
Easy integration with other Small Business Pro products and the Cisco Smart
Business Communications System (SBCS): Designed to integrate with other Cisco Small
Business Pro products and SBCS to provide a complete data, voice, video, and wireless
networking solution. Enables partners and customers to address network needs with a
system approach that makes it much easier to upgrade and add new capabilities to the
network.
Two options for simplified configuration and management: Choice of two simple
graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for easier configuration, management, and troubleshooting.
Includes an embedded web-based Configuration Utility device manager designed
specifically for setting up the ESW 500 switch, and can also be configured with Cisco
Configuration Assistant (CCA) version 2.0 or later for system deployments.
