Removing the Belt Covers and
Cleaning the Snowthrower

Procedure
1. Remove the 4 bolts that hold the belt covers in place,
and remove the belt covers.
Note: Save the screws to install the belt cover.
2. Clean and dry the top of the snowthrower frame to
remove all oil and dirt.
Important: The sealant will not adhere to a
dirty frame, and an improper seal may allow
moisture to penetrate the seal and leak onto the
friction wheel.

Installing the Drive Shield
Parts needed for this procedure:

Procedure
Important: You will need a flexible silicone RTV
sealant (such as Loctite 5045 or Loctite 5905) to
complete this procedure. The sealant should be
water and oil resistant.
1. Apply 2 parallel beads of sealant to the bottom of
the drive shield (Figure 1).
Note: Do not apply sealant in the area between the
locating tabs and the front edge of the drive shield
(Figure 1).
