Chapter 1 Product Overview This chapter describes the features of this product. This product is for mounting the remote service boards on the target server units shown below so that these boards can be used. This product includes a cable for connecting the server unit to the remote service board, remote service board firmware.
Chapter 2 Mounting This Product This chapter describes how to mount the remote service board and connect the cable for this product on the PRIMERGY N800. To use the Remote Service Board, mount the Remote Service Board , install ServerView and connect the LAN/modem by the flow shown in the figure below.
2.1 Preparations for Mounting This Product Prepare the following before you start to mount this product on the server unit. 2.1.1 Items to prepare Before you start to mount this product, prepare the following: Remote service board User's Manual provided with the server unit Drivers CD, ServerStart CD or ServerWizard CD provided with server ServerView CD provided with the server unit When using the ServerStart CD, create an MS-DOS bootup disk.

Chapter 2 Mounting This Product ■Mounting Position Connect the two cables provided with this product as shown in the figure below. To connect the cables, temporarily remove the slot protective plates and pass the cables under the plates. Before connecting the 3-pin power cable, remove the WOL cable connected to the standard installation LAN card.

2.2.4 Updating the firmware The following describes the procedure for updating the Remote Service Board firmware. When updating the firmware, also make the initial setups. Be sure to excute this procedure. ■Updating procedure [When using the Drivers CD or the ServerWizard CD] Turn the server unit ON, press the EJECT button on the CD-ROM drive during POST processing (while RAM module check messages, for example, are being displayed) and insert Drivers CD or ServerWizard CD in the CD-ROM drive.

Wait at least ten seconds before reconnecting the AC adapter to the Remote Service Board. Connect the power cable to the server, and turn on the server and peripherals. Re-update the software. If this product does not function normally after performing the above procedure, remove this product and contact a Fujitsu service engineer.
Chapter 3 Installing the Driver This chapter describes how to install the driver for the remote service board. The driver for the remote service board is included in the following software: − ServerView V03.00 or later ☛ Point The remote service board device driver is included in ServerView, and is installed automatically when ServerView is installed on the server unit.
Chapter 4 Supported Software This chapter describes the software (ServerView and RemoteControlService) that is supported on the remote service board. Chapter 5 Connecting LAN/Modem This chapter describes how to connect the LAN or modem to the remote service board. The remote service board can be accessed and from the administrator's terminal to control the server, or error notices (SNMP trap, E-mail, or pager) can be sent from the remote service board by connecting the LAN or modem to the remote service board.
