7.
Perform the following:
a.
Power off the frame that you are working on, by removing the line cords at the FC 5078, FC 0578,
FC 5088, and FC 0588 power supplies.
b.
Remove power supply P02 and remove the new B02 assembly. Replace it with the original B02
assembly. Reinstall power supply P02.
c.
Remove power supply P01. Remove the B01 assembly and replace it with a new B01 assembly.
Reinstall power supply P01.
d.
Power on the frame by reconnecting the ac power cables to the unit that you are working on.
Does a power reference code occur?
v
No: The B01 assembly that you removed in this step is the failing item.
This ends the procedure.
Yes: Perform the following:
v
a.
Power off the frame that you are working on, by removing the line cords at the FC 5078, FC
0578, FC 5088, and FC 0588 power supplies.
b.
Remove power supply P01 and remove the new B01 assembly. Replace it with the original B01
assembly.
c.
Install power supply P01.
d.
Replace the following FRUs one at a time:
Control panel (see symbolic FRU "CTLPNL" on page 323).
PCI backplane assembly location CB1 (see symbolic FRU "TWRCARD" on page 470).
This ends the procedure.
8.
Perform the following:
a.
Power off the frame that you are working on, by removing the line cords at the FC 5078, FC 0578,
FC 5088, and FC 0588 power supplies.
b.
Reinstall one of the cards that you removed in step 2 (See page 170).
c.
Power on the frame by reconnecting the ac power cables to the unit that you are working on.
Does a power reference code occur?
v
No: Continue with the next step.
Yes: Exchange the last card that you reinstalled in this step.
v
This ends the procedure.
9.
Have you reinstalled all of the cards?
v
No: Repeat step 8 (See page 172), reinstalling the next card.
v Yes: Replace the PCI backplane assembly in location CB1, (see symbolic FRU "TWRCARD" on
page 470).
This ends the procedure.

A power supply load fault is occuring in a system expansion unit or I/O tower. Read the "Power PIPs" on
page 152 for important safety information before servicing the system.
1. If the system has logical partitions, perform this procedure only from the Primary partition's console
and the system control panel. To determine if the system has logical partitions, go to Determine if the
system has logical partitions, before continuing with this procedure.
2. Is the SRC 1xxx 1B11, 1B12, 1B13, 1B14, 1B16, 1B17, 2602, or 2604?
v No: Continue with the next step.
v Yes: Go to step 16 (See page 175).
