    RFDMAN MAN0843 Issue 3 4 Introduction The Sensepoint RFD transmitter allows the user to either directly or remotely mount a flammable gas sensor from the Sieger Sensepoint and 705 sensor range. The remote sensors can be located up to 45 meters (147 feet) from the transmitter.

    4.3 Gas sensors Sensepoint RFD is designed to work with the flammable sensors from the Sieger Sensepoint and 705 ranges. The Sensepoint range is ATEX approved for use throughout Europe. The 705 range is UL approved for use in North America.

    0-20% LEL up to 0-100% LEL depending on transmitter or controller. Details of connecting these sensors to the Sensepoint RFD transmitter are given in sections 5 and 6. For sensor more specific details, refer to their individual manuals (00705M5002 standard temperature version and 00705M5010 high temperature version).

  • Page 9: Mounting And Location Of Transmitter And Sensors

    The agreement reached on the location of sensors should be recorded. 5.2 Mounting the transmitter The Sensepoint RFD transmitter is supplied with a mounting bracket. The bracket can be adjusted to fix the transmitter to a wall, or to a mounting pipe (horizontal or vertical), 20.0-80.0mm (0.8 to 3.1 inches).

    4. Mount the bracket to a pole or wall using appropriate fixings. 5.3 Mounting the sensor The flammable gas sensors that can be used with the Sensepoint RFD transmitter can be mounted directly to the bottom entry or remotely to a suitable junction box.

    RFDMAN MAN0843 Issue 3 6.3 Power The Sensepoint RFD transmitter requires a power supply from the controller of between 12Vdc and 30Vdc. Ensure that a minimum supply of 12Vdc is measured at the sensor, taking into account the voltage drop due to cable resistance.

    SENSEPOINT RFD OPERATING MANUAL RFDMAN MAN0843 Issue 3 8 Normal Operation Sensepoint RFD is managed using a menu system, shown on its display screen, which is configured by a Handheld Remote Interface (ZHC1). 8.1 Display Screen The display features an LCD, an IR receiver, a LED indicator and a label identifying the detector type.

    8.3 Handheld Remote Interface (ZHC1) The Intrinsically Safe (IS) battery-powered Handheld Remote Interface uses infrared signals to interface with the Sensepoint RFD transmitter. The unit operates at a range of up to 1m from the transmitter, and at an angle of +/-15 degrees (viewed from the front center line of the display screen).

    When in calibration mode the current output from the detector is inhibited (2mA default) to avoid false alarms. Note: Honeywell Analytics recommend the maximum time between calibrations should be no more than 6 months. It is recommended that the calibration is made where the sensor/transmitter have stabilized with their local environment.
