C3170 Series Service Guide Service Features A. License Management System (LMS) The License Management System (LMS) is a server based software license program. Each purchased software application package contains a license access number certificate with documentation. The Dealer must enter the license access number and the imageRUNNER serial number into the LMS server to generate a License Key. -

Activated software programs will not be impacted by normal service activity (e.g., HDD replacement). B. Serviceability To ensure machine reliability and copies of the highest quality, Canon USA recommends that a Quality Assurance Visit be performed every 40,000 prints/copies. Quality Assurance requires the cleaning, checking, and replacement of parts as necessary for specific areas every 40,000 prints/copies. -

The imageRUNNER C3170 Series main firmware controlling functions are stored in the hard disk drive (HDD) and the ROMs of the device. The imageRUNNER C3170 Series introduces a new way to update firmware via a USB flash drive . A PC is still necessary to download the firmware to the USB flash drive. -

100,000 prints/copies (or a combination of both), whichever comes first. During such warranty period, Canon shall replace, without charge, any defective part with a new or comparable rebuilt part. This warranty shall not extend to consumables such as paper, chemicals, and toner as to which there shall be no warranty or replacement. -
