    Connections Connecting using the S-video output If your TV (or other equipment) has an S-video (S1) input, you can use the S-video output on this player instead of the standard (composite) output for a better quality picture. • Use an S-video cable (not supplied) to connect the S-VIDEO OUT to an S-video input on your TV (or monitor or AV receiver).

    Connections Important • If you connect a TV that is not compatible with a progressive scan signal and switch the player to progressive, you will not be able to see any picture at all. In this case, switch everything off and reconnect using the supplied video cable (see Easy connections on page 11), then switch back to Interlace (see below).

    Connections Connecting using HDMI If you have a HDMI equipped monitor or display, you can connect it to this player using a commercially available HDMI cable. The HDMI connector outputs uncompressed digital video, as well as almost every kind of digital audio that the player is compatible with, including DVD-Video, Video CD/, CD, WMA, MP3, MPEG-4 AAC, DivX video and WMV.

    Connections About HDMI HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) supports both video and audio on a single digital connection for use with DVD players, DTV, set-top boxes, and other AV devices. HDMI was developed to provide the technologies of High Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) as well as Digital Visual Interface (DVI) in one specification.
