Caution
Children or bystanders may be injured if they
move or attempt to operate the tractor while it is
unattended.
Always remove the ignition and set the parking
brake when leaving the machine unattended, even
if just for a few minutes.
Adjusting the Height-of-Cut
The height-of-cut is adjusted from 1-1/2 to 4-1/2 inch (38
to 114 mm) in 1/4 inch (6 mm) increments by relocating the
clevis pin in different hole locations.
1. Raise the height-of-cut lever to the transport position
(also the 4-1/2 inch [114 mm] cutting height position)
(Fig. 18).
2. To adjust, remove the hairpin cotter and clevis pin from
the height-of-cut bracket (Fig. 18).
3. Select the hole in the height-of-cut bracket
corresponding to the height-of-cut desired, and insert
the clevis pin (Fig. 18).
4. Secure the clevis pin with the hairpin cotter (Fig. 18).

5. Lower the height-of-cut lever onto the clevis pin
(Fig. 18).
Adjusting the Anti-Scalp
Rollers
Whenever you change the height-of-cut, it is recommended
to adjust the height of the anti-scalp rollers.

Adjusting the Outside Rollers
1. Disengage the PTO, move the motion control levers to
the neutral locked position and set the parking brake.
2. Stop the engine, remove the key, and wait for all
moving parts to stop before leaving the operating
position.
3. After adjusting the height-of-cut, remove the nut and
washer while holding the stud with a wrench (Fig. 19).
Note: Do not remove the wheel nut and washer (Fig. 19).
4. Select a hole so that the gage wheel is positioned to the
nearest corresponding height-of-cut desired (Fig. 19).
5. Reinstall the stud nut and washer (Fig. 19).
6. Repeat the adjustment on the other gage wheels.

Adjusting the Center Rollers
1. Disengage the PTO, move the motion control levers to

moving parts to stop before leaving the operating

3. After adjusting the height-of-cut, remove the bolt and
nut (Fig. 20).
4. Select a hole so that the gage wheel is positioned to the
nearest corresponding height-of-cut desired (Fig. 20).
Note: Do not adjust the rollers to support the deck.
5. Reinstall the bolt, center rollers, and nut (Fig. 20).
