Drive chain cleaning and lubrication
The drive chain is equipped with rubber O-
rings between the chain plates. Steam clean-
ing, high-pressure washes, and certain sol-
vents can damage these O-rings. Use only
kerosene to clean the drive chain. Wipe it dry,
and thoroughly lubricate it with SAE 30 ~ 50
motor oil. Do not use any other lubricants on
the drive chain. They may contain solvents
that could damage the O-rings.

POTENTIAL HAZARD
Damaged control cables.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
Corrosion can result when the outer
covering of control cables becomes
damaged. Cables can also become
frayed or kinked. Operation of controls
could be restricted, which could cause
an accident or injury.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
Inspect cables frequently. Replace dam-

aged cables.
Lubricate the inner cables and the cable ends.
If the cables do not operate smoothly, ask a
Yamaha dealer to replace them.
