    EMU01775 BATTERY REQUIREMENT Do not use a battery that does not meet the specified capacity. If a battery which does not meet specifications is used, the electric system could perform poorly or be overloaded, causing electric system damage. For electric start models, choose a battery which meets the following specifications.

    If engine speed is too high or too low for good engine performance, this will have an adverse effect on the engine. Yamaha outboard motors are fitted with pro- pellers chosen to perform well over a range of applications, but there may be uses where a propeller with a different pitch would be more appropriate.

    EMU00175 INSTALLATION Incorrect engine height or obstructions to smooth water flow (such as the design or condition of the boat or acces- sories such as transom ladders/depth finder transducers) can create airborne water spray while the boat is cruising. Severe engine damage may result if the motor is operated continuously in the presence of airborne water spray.

    EMU01494 BREAKING IN (RUNNING IN) ENGINE Your new engine requires a period of break- in (running-in) to allow mating surfaces of moving parts to wear-in evenly. Correct break-in (running-in) will help ensure proper performance and longer engine life. 8 Failure to follow the break-in (running- in) procedure may result in reduced engine life or even severe engine dam- age.

Ring Free has repeat- edly proven its ability to clean combustion deposits from inside the engine, notably the critical piston-ring-land area, and fuel sys- tem components.
