Safety Warnings
Mandatory
Be careful to stand securely when attaching or removing the device, to allow safe working.
Failure to do so may lead to injury through falling or dropping.
Insertion and exchange of the battery and handling of pan head tapping screws should be done out of the reach of infants and children.
Failure to do so may lead to accidental ingestion or injury.
Mandatory
Fix securely.
Insecure fixing may lead to the product dropping, causing injury or damage to flooring or other objects.
Attach to a structurally sound point, such as wall framing*. Strengthen weak or flexible walls before attaching.
Failure to follow this may lead to the product dropping, causing injury or damage to other objects.
*Framing: wooden structure on which the wall is mounted.
Prior to Use
- This product is for use with the Home IoT Gateway. Temperature and humidity data measured by the sensors is transmitted to the Home IoT Gateway every 10 minutes in the case of the MKG1301913 (Indoors) or every 15 minutes in the case of the MKG1302913 (Outdoors) and displayed on our App on your smartphone.
- See the Home IoT Gateway App "Panasonic Home IoT" for details on registration and operation.
Note
There may be a delay between a change in temperature or humidity and detection by the internal sensor, due to the time required for the internal environment to balance (i.e. the device cannot respond to very rapid changes in temperature and humidity).
Cautions for Installation
- This product is for use with Panasonic's Home IoT Gateway.
- Up to 8 devices can be registered with the Home IoT Gateway.
- The MKG1301913 (Indoors) is for indoor use only. Do not position where rain could fall or somewhere with high humidity such as a bathroom.
- Site the MKG1302913 (Outdoors) away from direct rainfall and away from direct sunlight. While the device is rain resistant, it should not be deliberately wet, such as with a hose.
- Think carefully about the installation site to ensure accurate measurements. Do not position where it could be subject to high temperatures, steam, or air flow due to nearby doors and windows. Do not position where it could be affected by tobacco smoke, oil from kitchens, or dusty areas, as this can contaminate the sensors.
- Be sure to follow the rules below, as these may cause breakdown, damage or failure of operation.
- Do not use in a place with sea breezes, such as on the beach.
- Do not use in a place with hydrogen sulphide present, such as a hot springs.
- Do not drop or subject to impacts.
- Keep the Home IoT Gateway at least 50 cm away from the Temperature/Humidity Sensor.
- While the effect of radio transmissions on medical devices is extremely small, for safety, keep this device at least 20 cm away from medical devices.
- The radio transmission distance for the Home IoT Gateway and Temperature/Humidity Sensor is approximately 100 m, assuming a level, unobstructed line of sight.
- The radio transmission range will be reduced in the following usage environments due to radio noise. In such a case, the device may not function.
- If a radio wave barrier such as metal or reinforced concrete is present between the devices.
- If glass wool encased in aluminium is used as insulation in a wall between the devices.
- If the device is surrounded by metal (e.g. a steel cabinet).
- If the device is attached to a metal wall.
- If radio waves are blocked by the body of the person using the device.
- If a domestic appliance such as a microwave or computer or an OA device is within 2 m.
- If a DC device such as a bell or motor is in use close to the device.
- If a mobile telephone is used close to the device.
- If a microwave base station is used close to the device (less than 10 m).
- If there is a strong electric field from a nearby television or radio transmitter or radio mast.
- Please test operation at the site of use in advance. The radio transmission should be checked periodically, as the usage environment (radio environment) may change after installation.
- We recommend that there should be no more than one barrier between the Home IoT Gateway and Temperature/ Humidity Sensor such as steel-reinforced concrete or glass wool insulation. The Temperature/Humidity Outdoor Sensor should also be sited at the same height at the Home IoT Gateway (radio signal may be insufficient due to the location of furniture, even within the recommended range).
