Writing the setup file to the CAV-M1000ES
WARNING: Do not press the CAV-M1000ES Program button during file writing. Pressing this button can
permanently damage the CAV-M1000ES and make it unusable.
WARNING: Do not perform file writing at any data rate other than 57600 baud (bps). Writing at the wrong data
rate can permanently damage the CAV-M1000ES and make it unusable.
1. With the CAV-M1000ES power off, snap open the front panel and connect a commercially-available RS-232C
null modem cable from your laptop PC to the CAV-M1000ES front panel RS-232C port. Be sure to use a "null
modem" cable only. If your laptop PC does not have an RS-232C interface, you may also need a
commercially-available USB-to-RS-232C converter.
2. Turn on the CAV-M1000ES.
3. Make sure that the baud rate of the CAV-M1000ES is set to 57600.
A. Press the Mode button in the sub-panel until the display says <SETUP>, and press the Enter button.
B. The display will now read <WHICH MENU?>. Press the down arrow button until the display says
<BAUD RATE SET>, and press the Enter button.
C. The display will now read <WHICH PORT?>. Press the down arrow button until the display says
<FRONT RS232C>, and press the Enter button.
D. Use the up/down buttons until the display says <57600 bps>, and press the Enter button.
4. Prepare the CAV-M1000ES.
A. Press the Mode button in the sub-panel until the display says <SETUP>, and press the Enter button.
B. The display will now read <WHICH MENU?>. Press the down arrow button until the display says <PC
SETUP>, and press the Enter button.
C. The display will now read <READY!>
5. Launch the CAV-M1000ES Setup Software on your laptop PC by clicking a shortcut icon or double-clicking
the CAV-M1000ES.exe icon.
