MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
All work on the mask must be carried out by personnel qualified for maintenance.
Except for the changing of the visor, all maintenance operations can be performed without special tools.
A sealing test must be performed on the inspection bench after any work on the mask.
Inner mask
•
Remove old inner mask.
•
Insert the new inner mask, positioning it in the groove of the mask connector.
Mask base
•
Remove the inner mask.
•
Unscrew the Air-Klic connector by pressing the cross in the centre.
•
Remove the grid.
•
Press the base firmly with the thumbs from the outside of the mask to remove it from the visor.
•
Remove the part holding the expiratory valve.
•
Remove the strut and spring by unclipping it on the opposing side.
•
Refit all the components previously removed into the new base.
•
Fit a new O-ring seal and grease it.
•
Replace the complete base from the inside of the visor.
•
Place the grid. Screw the Air-Klic connector.
Eye piece
•
Unscrew the bolts holding the visor frame.
•
Remove the visor from the face blank groove and check that it is clean.
•
Unscrew the Air-Klic connector by pressing the cross in the centre.
•
Remove the grid.
•
Remove the base from the visor with its O-ring seal.
•
Fit the base in the new visor.
•
Reposition the visor, ensuring it is correctly fitted in the groove.
•
Position the visor frame and refit the fastening bolts.
•
Refit the grid and tighten the Air-Klic connector.
Speech diaphragm and O-ring seal
•
Remove the inner mask.
•
Unscrew the Air-Klic connector by pressing the cross in the centre.
•
Remove the base grid.
•
Press the base firmly with the thumbs from the inside of the mask to remove it from the visor.
•
Unscrew the speech diaphragm.
•
Fit a new O-ring seal to the speech diaphragm.
•
Refit the new speech diaphragm into the base.
•
Reposition the base from inside the mask visor.
•
Place the grid on the connector. Screw the Air-Klic.
Head harness
•
Hold head harness by pulling at its straps and slipping them out of the metal rectangles.
•
Fix new head harness.
Flange and calibrated valve spring (so-called "positive pressure" mask)
Only people who have taken a training course are qualified to carry out this maintenance.
•
Unscrew the Air-Klic connector by pressing the cross in the centre.
•
Remove the base grid.
•
Remove the valve spring retainer by unclipping it. Carefully identify the fitting direction.
•
Extract the valve-spring assembly.
•
Remove the worn valve and replace it with a new one, taking care to position it correctly.
•
Reclip the disc holding the valve in the correct fitting direction.
•
Replace the spring if necessary.
•
Position the assembly in the mask base.
•
Refit the spring retainer in the base.
•
Refit the grid and tighten the Air-Klic connector.
•
Test airtightness of the mask and calibration of the exhalation valve on the inspection bench.
