Adjusting the sound
characteristics
SOUND
You can adjust the sound characteristics
according to your preference.
The setting items in the sound menu and
switching order are indicated below.
BAL (Balance): Adjusts the sound balance
between the left and right speakers.
FAD (Fader): Adjusts the relative level between
the front and rear speakers.
EQ7: Selects an equalizer curve from 7 music
types.

During playback/reception, press
(SOUND) repeatedly until the desired
setting item appears on the main unit.

Press </, to adjust the level or
select the desired option.
After 3 seconds, the setting is complete and
the display returns to normal play/reception
mode.
With the main unit
Press the volume control dial instead of (SOUND),
rotate the volume control dial instead of pressing </
,.

Customizing the equalizer curve

"CUSTOM" of EQ7 allows you to make your
own equalizer settings. You can adjust the level
of 7 different bands: 62 Hz, 157 Hz, 396 Hz,
1 kHz, 2.5 kHz, 6.3 kHz, and 16 kHz.

During playback/reception, press
(SYSTEM SETUP).
The system setup item appears on the main
unit.

Press M/m to select "EQ7 TUNE," then
press (ENTER).

Press M/m to select "CUSTOM," then
press (ENTER).

Adjust the level of each frequency.
To adjust the level, press M/m.
The level is adjustable in single steps,
between –8 and +8.
To switch the frequency, press </,.
To restore the factory-set equalizer curve,
press and hold (ENTER).

Press (ENTER).
The setting is complete and the display
returns to normal play/reception mode.
Note
EQ7 is not selectable in karaoke mode, or when
"SUPER AUDIO CD MODE" in visual setup (page 38)/
"SA-CD MOD" in system setup (page 41) is set to
"HQ."
Tip
Other equalizer types are also adjustable.
With the main unit
Rotate the volume control dial instead of pressing M/
m, press the volume control dial instead of </, or
(ENTER).
