    Server controls, LEDs, and connectors This section describes the controls, light-emitting diodes (LEDs), and connectors on the front and rear of the server. Front view The following illustration shows the controls, LEDs, and connectors on the front of the server. This configuration supports up to four 2.5-inch hot-swappable hard disk drives.
  • Page 24 Hard disk drive status LED: This LED is used on SAS hard disk drives. When this LED is lit, it indicates that the drive has failed. If an optional IBM ServeRAID controller is installed in the server, when this LED is flashing slowly (one flash per second), it indicates that the drive is being rebuilt.

    Configuring the server The ServerGuide Setup and Installation CD provides software setup tools and installation tools that are specifically designed for your IBM server. Use this CD during the initial installation of the server to configure basic hardware features and to simplify the operating-system installation.
