Check the connection of the
coupler is secure.
Remove the coupler, and
check each pin (for bending,
wear, or locking).

Injector: open circuit detected. (no normal signals are received from
the injector.)
Able to start engine (depending on the number of faulty cylinders)
Able to drive vehicle (depending on the number of faulty cylinders)

Actuates injector #1 five times at one-second intervals.
Illuminates the engine trouble warning light.
Check that injector #1 is actuated five times by listening for the
operating sound.
Actuates injector #2 five times at one-second intervals.
Illuminates the engine trouble warning light.
Check that injector #2 is actuated five times by listening for the
operating sound.
Actuates injector #3 five times at one-second intervals.
Illuminates the engine trouble warning light.
Check that injector #3 is actuated five times by listening for the
operating sound.
Actuates injector #4 five times at one-second intervals.
Illuminates the engine trouble warning light.
Check that injector #4 is actuated five times by listening for the
operating sound.
Check or maintenance job
Check in the diagnostic mode
(Code No. d36, d37, d38,
d39).
Locate the injector with no
operating noise. Carry out the
following checks to the defec-
tive injector coupler, wire har-
ness, and injector.
Poor connection → Connect it
securely, or repair/replace the
wire harness.
Check the fuel injector resis-
tance. → Approx. 12.0 Ω
Replace if defective.
